Severe Weather Possible

This week can be volatile weather-wise for Mississippi. The reason? Spring begins and the change in seasons is upon us. If you've been watching WLBT for the last few nights, you know what I'm about to say....severe weather is likely for the overnight hours.

Another strong cold front will push into the state tonight causing severe thunderstorms, large hail, damaging straight-line winds and possible tornadoes (sound familiar?). This event looks to occur late tonight and into the wee hours of Wednesday morning. This is the worst possible time considering most people are asleep. Although it may be good that I may not have to interrupt prime time programming (remember those nasty emails?), I dread knowing that lives could be at stake while most are in dreamland. Have your weather radio on and take a look at the map from the National Weather Service.

It will be a long night for those of us at WLBT, but we'll all get through this together!

Interrupt as much as you need to, just don't lose power.
I think its cool answering emails on the air also.
