A Day Off

I'm doing something today I haven't done in a few months--I'm taking the day off. I have been a single parent this week as my husband has been in Dallas for the last 5 days. So today, I've promised the children we will play all day and welcome daddy home tonight. Wait, I thought I said this was a day "off"? If I'm playing all day, that's not resting....

The rain yesterday was a sight for sore eyes. I noticed the radar lighting up with scattered thunderstorms around 3pm. Unfortunately, not a drop fell at my house. I did receive an email from a very thankful viewer.

Sorry I did not get to see your report last night due to the stupid hockey game. But just wanted to let you know that the LORD has sent us some wonderful rain here East of Osyka. We give give thanks to God for this gift. Signed, Robert Wallace

Glad I could be the bearer of good news, Robert!

Enjoy your weekend and let's pray for more rain. The farmers are suffering and they could really use some help during this growing season.

I know what you mean about play not being so restful - I have the joy of being home with my son during the summer break and am already exhausted after two weeks of my 8 1/2 week break but I am LOVING every moment of watching him grow, learn, and discover!! I am so glad you are taking a day for "you" we will do just fine watching the weather with someone else but look forward to your return. Enjoy your time with Will and Gracie!

Yeah, you deserve a day off. And for you, a play day with the kids is a day off in your book. With all that you do, it's a wonder you have time to breathe. It's great that you spent the day with just you and the kids. I hope you stayed cool. That heat index went on up in the 100's at my house today.

Yeah, my house got drenched. Sorry to hear that your house didn't get a drop. When I got home yesterday, my dad told me it had rained just as hard as it did up at WLBT. So, the dog and the grass got a very welcomed rain yesterday. I guess we can hope that tomorrow more rain will come. It's gone on up to 60% chance so, I'm hopin for a storm or two. I hope you get some well needed and probably welcomed rain at your house as well, Barbie!

it's been a while since i posted a comment - i've been reading, though!
my daddy is also a delta farmer (i think i've told you this before). he was SO excited when he called me this morning to report that he had gotten 2 1/2 inches of rain in minter city! Praise God! it came at just the right time - some of the beans were needing some water! God never ceases to amaze us!

That's great, Suzanne! My parents got some much needed rain yesterday, so things are now looking up.
