The emails of complaints have quietened down but the comments/phone calls from viewers haven't. Here are just a few I received this week:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Barbie, if you're going to stay pregnant all of the time, it's time for you to go to the house. We don't want to see it. Just go home and be a mother!"
"Hey Barbie, I think it's nice how you're having another baby and all. But, haven't you figured out what causes this?"
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
While my husband and I were eating out last Saturday night, an older man came up to me and said he couldn't believe how big I looked on TV. "Yes, I know," I said. "TV adds another 10-15 pounds on people." Then he said, "Well, since you're so big and this one is a girl, I think you need to name her Ida Clare!"
(So I admit, I even laughed at that comment.)

I have a real radical idea, called
"eye contact". Ask God to let you see Barbie as He sees her. I love it, another soul coming into the world.

I'm stopping by to catch up on the blog. It's been awhile!
Congrats on the baby!
I once read a hilarious email that was sent to Lisa Patton (WKRN, Nashville) when she was pregnant.
I'm going try to get you a copy.
Take care.
I never realized Jackson was "small town USA". Little did I know. You know STUSA is where everybody knows your business and never fails to tell you! :) Like you, I have to say that I did laugh at the Ida Clare comment. Don't you wish you could live your life as well as everyone else does?
I continue to be amazed at the fact that there are folks out there who think they have the right... and the obligation... to tell you all these things.
A great response to "don't you know what causes this" is "Oh yes, I most surely do!" (Sad with a big smile!).
I think you look great! Barbara C.
God, please, forgive these jealous people for their hurtful comments to Barbie.
Surely, they realize that pregnant women live in this world; and, yes, they go out in public...believe it or not! I can't believe how rude and uncaring people are this day and time.
Barbie, you are a precious, blossoming young woman...hubby and I enjoy your weather broadcast ....please, don't let these ill-mannered people ruin this very special time for you.
